5 Simple Winter Skin Care Tips For Oily Skin

Winter is the best time for oily skin as the atmosphere is not very humid and your skin feels less oily. However, that doesn’t mean you can slather cold creams and moisturisers on your skin liberally. In winter, your skin needs extra care to keep it from drying while ensuring that it does not get too oily. Tricky, isn’t it? But don’t worry here are some simple ways by which you can maintain your skin’s moisture without making it too oily

Mild Face Wash

On a regular basis, you may be using a face wash that clears your face of the excess oil. But in winters, opt for a mild face wash that will clean your skin and not dry it. Limit washing your face to two times a day. Do not wash your face excessively as it will rob your skin of its natural oil and your skin will lose its healthy shine. So, remember keep it mild in the winters.

Gel Based Moisturiser

At times, your skin might feel dry and rough but do not use a creamy moisturiser to make your skin soft. A creamy moisturiser can cause a breakout. Instead, go for a gel-based moisturiser that is light on your skin and keeps it hydrated.

Sunscreen

I know how difficult it is to find a good sunscreen that isn’t oily and creamy. But you must not skip this one at any cost. The sun may not feel as harsh as it does in the other seasons but it can cause equal amount of damage to your skin. So, always step out wearing a sunblock. Don’t worry you do get gel based sunblocks that are suitable for oily skin.

Drink Water

You may not feel very thirsty during the winter so your water consumption may drop drastically. Drinking minimum 3 litres of water is a must for every adult. Download an app that will remind you to drink water at regular intervals. Drinking lots of water will help you clean your system as well as keep your skin hydrated.

Control Diet

With the drop in temperature, you may be tempted to indulge in hot, spicy, and oily foodstuff. Consuming such food in excess can damage your skin. It is ok to eat something oily one in a month but do not eat unhealthy food frequently.
