5 Tricks To Avoid Leaving Those Nasty Lipstick Marks
How many times has it happened to you that you eat out with your friends and find your spoon covered in lip colour or you offer a hug to a friend and leave a nice red blotch on the persons’ shirt? Does it happen too often? If yes, then you know how embarrassing it is to literally ‘leave a mark behind’ with your lip colour. Here are five simple hacks or tricks that will make any lipstick of yours kissproof.
1. Use A Lip Liner
Lip liners not only define the shape of your lips but also make your lipstick last longer. How? A lip liner is generally dry or matte and it holds your lipstick better. It keeps the lip colour from bleeding or transferring thereby keeping it intact and making it last for a longer duration.
2. Dab Some Powder
Powders absorb moisture and leave the skin dry. You can make a sandwich of lipstick-powder-lipstick. First apply your lipstick then dab some translucent powder over it followed by another coat of lipstick. The powder will absorb excess colour and you will not have to worry about any lip stains. In case you do not have translucent powder, you can also use your compact; it will have the same effect.
3. Cover With Lip Primer
The primer plays an important role in makeup routines. Its purpose is to create an even surface and make the skin look flawless. A lip primer smoothens the surface of your lips and holds the lipstick from transferring stains. Now that is dual benefits.
4. Blot It Out
Some glossy lip colours often tend to leak and spread all over your face. For such lip colours, you can use a blotting paper to soak up the excess lipstick. This will keep your lipstick in place without you having to worry of it staining any other surface.
5. Point A Finger
In case you are worried of your lipstick staining your teeth, then this simple trick will eliminate all your concerns. After you are done applying your lipstick, put your index finger in your mouth and shut your lips in a pout or an ‘O’ over it and then slowly pull your finger out of your mouth. It will clear any excess lip colour spread over the inside of your lips and your teeth will be lipstick-free.
