Biotique Bio Papaya Revitalizing Tan Removal Scrub Review: Revitalises The Skin But Hardly Works On Tan
I use skin lightening or brightening products only to get rid the spots and blemishes I have due to acne. I was looking online for anti-tan gels that could lighten my blemishes and skin tan when I came across this scrub. The scrub claims to lighten and brighten the skin as well as reduce tan. I have been using this face scrub for more than three months and here is my experience with it.
Name: Biotique Bio Papaya Revitalizing Tan Removal Scrub
Price: ₹199/- for 75gm
(It is strange how all the Biotique products I have purchased till now are all priced at ₹199/-)
Ingredients:
What does it claim?
The scrub gently exfoliates dead skin, unclogs open pores, lightens skin tone, reduces tan and leaves it smooth and refreshed.
How to use?
Scoop the required quantity out of the tub and massage gently onto moist skin. Wash off with regular water.
Does it fulfil its claim?
The scrub comes in a white tub with a green screw cap and a stopper lid so the scrub remains within the tub.
This clay scrub is extremely thick as compared to a cream scrub.
Since my skin is sensitive, the scrub makes my skin tingle slightly. The granules are round, smooth and gentle. The best part about this product is that it lasts reaaaaaaally long. I do not mean the effects but the quantity.
I have been using this scrub for more than 3 months and I use it twice a week and it still has enough of product to last me another month. The package says that the scrub should be used daily for best results, however, I was not comfortable with the idea of scrubbing my sensitive skin every single day so I stuck to my regular regime and used it twice a week. My facial skin is a few shades darker than the skin on my neck. I was left tanned after a visit to an amusement park and started using this to get rid of that tan. Though the scrub worked very well on clearing clogged pores and making my skin clean and smooth, it did not work wonders on my tan. In fact, it hardly helped in reducing the tan. I used the scrub not only on my face but also on my shoulders and hands but it did not show any great results.
What’s good about it?
Does effectively clean the skin
Makes the skin smooth
Suits sensitive skin (though it does sting slightly)
What’s not so good about it?
Not very effective on lightening tan
I give Biotique Bio Papaya Revitalizing Tan Removal Scrub 3.5 out of 5 rating. Though the scrub clears skin of excess oil, dirt, and grime, it does not show any visible results on lightening a tan. It is an effective scrub but not a ‘tan removal’ scrub.
