“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Ratings Soar One Last Time For Its Finale Episode

On August 18, ENA telecasted the last episode of its extremely successful drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” which broke its own ratings record till date.

As per ratings agency Nielsen Korea, the final episode of the show registered an average nationwide rating of 17.5%. Now that is an exceptional performance for a drama that started its run with a humble rating of 0.9%.  

“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” received tremendous love from its viewers and each episode witnessed a new rating high. I feel the show totally deserves the love because it dealt with the sensitive topic of autism and helped spread awareness about it through an endearing female lead and a heart-warming story. I personally had very little knowledge about the condition and this show certainly helped me understand it a lot better.

Sadly, the show also had its share of controversies, the latest one being that a deadly disease like cancer was shown in a light manner (almost comical) in the finale episode. Several viewers shared their annoyance on social media, calling out the writer for being insensitive to those who suffer from the disease and those who have lost a loved one to it.

I am still in single digit episodes, so it will take me a while before I get to the finale. Anyone who has watched this show has only praised it so I’m hoping to complete it soon.
