Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam – Lemon Review: Makes Skin Squeaky Clean And Overly Dry

The K-drama fan in me keeps pushing me to explore Korean skin care brands and here I am with a new Korean skin product. I bought this cleansing foam because I wanted to try a Face Shop product for a while as I have been hearing great things about it from my fellow K-brand lovers. Also, Face Shop is a herbal brand and in case you don’t know then I am a loyal promoter of herbal products. I do use other brands but my skin is extra sensitive and I prefer buying products that contain natural herbs. I always buy my skin care products after thorough research and contemplation. (I do buy stuff impulsively but that depends on how good the advertisement of the product is.) I bought a lot of stuff from The Face Shop and have been using it for weeks. I used this lemon cleansing foam for two weeks and here is my experience with it.

What does it claim?

This lemon cleansing foam removes dead skin cells and makes the skin feel fresh. Suits all skin types.

 

How to use?

Squeeze a pea-sized amount of the cleansing foam onto palm and gently massage over damp face. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

 

 

Does it fulfil its claim?

The foam cleanser comes in an off-white tube with a flip cap.

The foam is a shiny white creamy formula with a strong pleasant lemon fragrance to it.

 

Whenever I buy a new product, I first click pictures of it before using it. I did the same with this cleansing foam. I swatched the foam on the back of my hand and when I washed it I was surprised to see how it made my skin ‘squeaky’ clean. I like shampoos that make my hair squeaky clean and have used face washes that make skin very clean but never this kind of squeaky clean. My hands are generally dry so I thought maybe this face wash is more suited for oily skin and may be milder on greasy skin. When I used the cleansing foam to wash my face, it felt like my skin has turned to plastic as it felt weirdly dry and clean. The foam’s formula is so potent that it kept my skin oil-free for 3-4 hours after using it. However, the skin also feels dry which is why I had to use a moisturiser after washing my face with this foam. Normally, I do not use a moisturiser for my skin as my skin is oily and my dermatologist has advised me to not use a moisturiser for a while. Though this cleansing foam keeps my skin oil-free for hours, I don’t think I can use it on a regular basis as it makes my skin extremely dry and I do not like how my skin feels after using this product. I now use this cleansing foam only when I have to be outdoors for long hours as it keeps oiliness at bay and I do not have to worry about looking shiny in the sun.

I give Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam Lemon 2.5 out of 5 rating. The cleansing foam does what it claims and it makes the skin clean and fresh. However, I personally did not like how it felt on my face and would not repurchase this product.
