Gem Blue Biocare Herbal Scrub Review: High On Parabens This Product Is Not Recommended
Just because a product has the word ‘herbal’ written over it does not mean that it will not contain harmful chemicals. ‘Herbal’ is now the new ‘fat-free’ in beauty products. Just like we feel ‘fat-free’ biscuits will not make us fat, ‘herbal’ is equivalent to absolutely safe to use. I bought this scrub believing the same until I saw the ingredients list. This scrub contains all the parabens that you must avoid using. I was in urgent need of a body scrub so ordered it without checking the ingredients list. The product does its job well but the chemicals are a cause of concern hence I’m not recommending it.
Name: Gem Blue Biocare Herbal Scrub
Price: ₹275/- for 150g
Ingredients:
What does it claim?
Gem Blue Biocare Herbal Scrub exfoliates the skin and clears dirt and excess oil. It smoothens the skin and lightens skin tone.
How to use?
Apply the required amount of product to wet skin and massage gently. Wash with regular water.
Does it fulfil its claim?
The light green scrub is of creamy consistency and contains thick granules that exfoliate the skin.
It has a mild synthetic fragrance. I personally found the granules a tad bit harsh so I used this scrub only over my body.
It effectively exfoliates the skin and leaves it soft and smooth. It cleanses the skin but does not really lighten it. At least I did not find any skin lightening effect on my skin. It is a decent scrub that effectively scrubs the skin. Since I have the jar, I will try to finish it as soon as I can but shall not be repurchasing it only because of the parabens present in it.
What’s good about it?
Cleanses the skin
Leaves the skin soft and smooth
What’s not so good about it?
Contains parabens
Granules too harsh for the face
I give Gem Blue Biocare Herbal Scrub 1 out of 5 rating. The scrub performs decently like a regular scrub. However, the presence of parabens in the product bothers me so I do not recommend this scrub.
