Here’s Why 2017 Is Going To Be The Best Year For Bollywood Buffs
2017 is going be an exciting year for Bollywood buffs as we have movies of all the top actors releasing this year. SRK, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh all have at least one movie releasing this year, which is such a treat for movie lovers. Let’s have a look the exciting movie line-up this year.
January 2017
The first month of the year we see a clash of the titans where King Khan brings his much-awaited project, Raees on the same day as Hrithik Roshan’s romantic thriller, Kaabil. In Raees, SRK once again plays the role of a gangster after Don. In an online poll, SRK was voted the best-looking actor in a black pathani and I couldn’t agree less with the popular opinion. The lean and fit SRK totally nails the ruthless, rowdy gangster look. Hrithik, on the other hand, plays a visually impaired man seeking revenge for the death of his beloved. Kaabil’s promo has created quite a buzz while Roshan Jr.’s fans cannot wait to kick-start the year with their favourite actor.
I don’t know if it’s just me who has no idea of Vidya Balan’s next movie Begum Jaan. The movie is based on a historical drama dealing with the lives of three prostitutes. Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer OK Jaanu is a love story directed by Saathiya fame director, Shaad Ali. Shraddha and Aditya created waves in the industry with their sizzling chemistry in Aashiqui 2. Let’s see if this good-looking couple manages to recreate history.

February 2017
Of the movies scheduled for a February release, the interesting trio movie Rangoon is what has my attention. Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Rangoon is a period film set in the time of World War 2. Tapsee Pannu’s next project has quite an interesting name, Runningshaadi.com. This rom-com is about two people who run a website that helps lovers to elope for marriage. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar comes with yet another comedy with Jolly LLB 2 wherein he plays a lawyer.

March 2017
March is the month of sequels as we have three releases that are installments of their predecessors. First up is action film Commando 2, starring the franchise’s original hero Vidyut Jamwal with a new heroine, Adah Sharma. Next is Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which is the second part of the 2014 hit movie, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt looked great in the original movie, hopefully they will manage to look fabulous in the second part too. Sarkar series is one of Ram Gopal Verma’s most successful projects. Political thriller Sarkar 3 will once again have Amitabh Bachchan playing the ambitious and intimidating politician, Subhash Nagre.
March also has two small budget films releasing one of which is Anushka Sharma’s second venture as producer, Phillauri.

Hopefully, the much delayed Jagga Jasoos may finally see the light of the day in 2017. Ranbir and Katrina were in news in 2016 for their alleged break-up, which is said to have affected the shoot and promotion of Jagga Jasoos. Stand-up comedian, Kanan Gill makes his movie debut in the Sonakshi Sinha starrer, Noor. Noor is a rom-com that traces the life of a journalist in Mumbai.

May sees only two movie releases with two fresh pairings. Powerful performers, Ayushmann Khurana and Parineeti Chopra come together for the first time in the romantic drama, Meri Pyaari Bindu. Similarly, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor also will be paired opposite each other for the first time in Half-Girlfriend that is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name.

Tiger Shroff starrer Munna Micheal will have him playing a slum boy who worships pop star Micheal Jackson. We already know how big a fan Tiger is of Micheal in real life and this role seems to be written especially for him to pay a tribute to the pop star. Playing a titular role and carrying a film on your shoulder is not an easy task. But Shraddha Kapoor has decided to take up this challenge as she will be seen as terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parker in the movie Haseena. Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor will be acting with his uncle Anil Kapoor for the first time in the romantic drama, Mubarakan which also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty.

Sanjay Dutt’s comeback movie Bhoomi is directed by Mary Kom fame director, Omung Kumar and is supposed to be a sensitive drama dealing with the relationship between a father and daughter. No, the movie The Ring is not a horror movie but is a sweet romantic drama by Imtiaz Ali starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. Bang Bang’s sequel, Reloaded has a new hero, Siddharth Malhotra and a new heroine, Jacqueline Fernandez. Unlike Bang Bang which was inspired by the Hollywood film Knight and Day, Reloded’s story is developed by its directors, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

October will have three big movies, Aankhen 2, Robot 2.0 and Golmaal Again trying to cash on the festival of Diwali. Aankhen 2 starring Amitabh Bachchan will also be dealing with blind men like its predecessor. Golmaal franchise returns with its fourth installment and a new member, Parineeti Chopra. However, the movie I am looking forward to the most is South’s megastar Rajnikanth’s Robot 2.0 that will be having Akshay Kumar in a negative role.

December’s big release is Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hain, which is the sequel of the 2012 blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger.
