The show is based on award-winning author, Shinkawa Hotate’s novel of the same name. Shinkawa Hotate’s other novel “Motokare no Yuigon” aka “My Ex-Boyfriend’s Last Will” has already been made into a dorama which is currently airing on Fuji TV.

In the show, Sakaguchi Kentaro plays the role of Tsutomu Koshobu, a law student and Tokyo university topper who works for the Fair Trade Commission, also known as the Guardian of Market.

Actress Watanabe Anne plays the role of detective Kaede Shirokuma. While on the job, she fails to nab a criminal who escapes right before her eyes. She is then transferred to the Fair Trade Commission where she and Tsutomu get together and handle tricky cases.

After watching Sakaguchi Kentaro in “Tokyo Tarareba Girls“, “Signal”, and “Only Just Married“, I am looking forward to his new project considering how much I loved him in those dramas. I’m hoping he does a good job because I have high hopes for him.

“Kyoso no Bannin” is scheduled to premiere in July 2022.
