Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, Park Ji Hoo Walk Determinedly As Sisters In First Poster For “Little Women”
On July 28, tvN released the first poster of its upcoming drama “Little Women” starring Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo.
Based on the English novel “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott, the show follows the lives of three sisters who are born in a poor family and are entangled in a pivotal incident that pits them against the most powerful family in South Korea.
Kim Go Eun plays the eldest sister Oh In Joo. In Joo’s dream in life is to become rich and be able to protect her family.
Nam Ji Hyun plays the middle sister Oh In Kyung, a righteous news reporter whose integrity cannot be bought with money.
Park Ji Hoo plays the youngest sister Oh In Hye, who has grown up pampered by her hard-working and loving sisters. Her natural talent helps her get into a prestigious art college despite lacking the resources and funds for it.
From the poster, you can see how Kim Go Eun leads her two sisters with a heavy bag on her back. Park Ji Hoo being the youngest walks shielded between her two older sisters with a drawing board in her hand. She is followed by Nam Ji Hyun who walks confidently behind her two sisters. The three girls leave a long shadow beside them which raises curiosity about their stories.
The show also stars “Squid Game” actor Wi Ha Joon who gets involved with Kim Go Eun in the show.
The novel “Little Women” came out in 1868 and since then has been adapted into multiple stage shows, TV shows, and movies. Its last movie adaptation in 2019, starring Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, and Meryl Streep was a huge success and critically acclaimed.
This Korean adaptation seems to have put up a good cast and it remains to see if it manages to win over its audiences.
“Little Women” is scheduled for release in September on tvN.
