Nivea Light Moisturiser Review: Not Light For The Oily Skin

I have oily skin. Actually, that’s an understatement. My skin isn’t just oily, it is a freaking oil reservoir. My face is so oily that it will soon be on the world map as a new country rich in oil reserves. For a face, so greasy using a moisturiser is a strict no-no. The only time I use a moisturiser is during winters when my skin gets slightly dry in patches of my face. I usually opt for gel-based moisturisers as they are most suitable for oily skin. However, when strolling at a supermarket I came across Nivea’s ‘Light’ Moisturiser. I have been using Nivea’s other creams for many years now and I am loyal to this brand, so I bought the moisturiser without a second thought and here is my experience using it.

Nivea Light Moisturiser Review

How To Use: Wash your face with a skin cleanser and apply the cream on dry, clean skin.

What does it claim?

The back cover indicates that the cream contains Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E that will invigorate your skin. The light moisturiser is made of a fast absorbing formula that makes it quickly seep into the skin leaving the skin looking fresh and soft.

Does it fulfil its claim?

I used the cream every morning after washing my face. The moisturiser gets absorbed quickly and makes the skin soft. However, I picked the product going by its name, expecting it to be light’ but I personally did not find it light on my skin. It made my skin look shiny within a few hours. I would have to wash off the cream after 6 hours because by then my skin would look dull and oily. It has a thick creamy consistency which is not ideal for a person with oily skin.

Nivea Light Moisturiser Review

What’s good about it?

Get’s absorbed quickly.

Moisturizes the skin.

Easily available.

Travel-friendly packaging.

What’s not so good about it?

Smells like any other Nivea cream.

Not suitable for oily skin.

Makes the skin look dull after a few hours.

I give Nivea’s Light Moisturiser 2 out of 5 rating. For me, the cream was just like any other Nivea cream. It was thick and creamy which did not suit my oily skin. I feel the product could be more suitable for dry or normal skin.
