Takeuchi Ryoma To Lead ‘Roppongi Class’ the Japanese Adaptation Of K-Drama ‘Itaewon Class’

There has been so much buzz around the Japanese remake of ‘Itaewon Class’ since last year and I’m glad that it has finally locked in its lead, Takeuchi Ryoma.

Itaewon Class follows the life of Park Saeroyi who gets into a fight with a school bully. Since the bully comes from an influential family, he goes unscathed while Saeroyi has to serve a prison sentence. Meanwhile, he also loses his father to an accident after which he decides to open a pub in Itaewon where he is confronted by several challenges that threaten his business.

‘Itaewon Class’ aired in early 2020 and was a huge success in South Korea as well as internationally. It contributed tremendously to actor Park Seo Joon’s rise to stardom.

Ryoma will be playing the role of Miyabe Shin. While the rest of the cast is yet to be finalized I am already excited about it because of Ryoma. I loved him as the struggling artist in ‘Overprotected Kahoko’ and I was screaming with excitement in the theatre when I saw a glimpse of him in ‘Pokémon Detective Pikachu’. 🙂 And now I cannot wait to see him in this badass avatar.

Ryoma too seems to be extremely excited about the dorama as he has even cut his hair as per the character’s requirement.

Watch out for ‘Roppongi Class’ which is set to broadcast in July.
