The Face Shop Real Nature Avocado Mask Review: Failed To Show Some Great Results
Ask me if I like to peek into the mirror frequently and I will reply with a ‘no’. Ask me the same question after I have used a sheet mask and my answer will be a big ‘yes’. Why? Because Korean sheet masks are so effective that I now swear by them. I have a box full of sheet masks which I use every alternate night before sleeping and the next morning I wake up looking refreshed and radiant. A few days ago, I had a lot of work to finish and ended up working for 28 hours straight. I used a sheet mask and left the serum on for more than 9 hours and then finally hit the bed. When I woke up, though I was still feeling drained out, my skin looked bright like the sun. No one could have guessed how fatigued I was because the mask kept my skin looking healthy and refreshed. I then realised how potent these sheet masks are. I also noticed that sheet masks have helped to soothe my acne and redness. They are so hydrating that my acne reduces slightly and become less prominent on my face. I am now a total Korean beauty junkie and I know my sheet mask fixation won’t die anytime soon.
However, all sheet masks serve a different purpose and may not give you the same results. Some masks will work great for your skin while some will show relatively fewer effects. The Avocado sheet mask was one such variant that did not work as wonderfully as the other sheet masks in the Real Nature collection and here is my experience with it.
Name: The Face Shop Real Nature Avocado Mask
Price: ₹ 100/- for 1 sheet mask
Ingredients:
What does it claim?
Drenched with emulsified moisturising serum, the sheet mask moisturises and nourishes the skin.
How to use?
Wash your face with a mild cleanser and pat it dry. Using a cotton ball gently rub a toner over your face that will help refine your skin texture. Remove the mask from its packet and place it on your face. Remove the mask (down to up direction) after 10-15 minutes and gently massage the solution left on the skin and leave it on till it dries on your face. DO NOT wash it off as your skin needs to absorb the serum. The serum may feel sticky at first but don’t worry it will dry after some time.
Does it fulfil its claim?
I first washed my face with an oil balance face wash. After wiping my face dry with a towel, I applied a toner and left it on to dry. I took out the avocado sheet mask from its pouch and first tore the eye hole to fit my eye shape. I then placed the mask on my face and left it on for 30 minutes. After taking off the mask, I left the serum on overnight. I massaged the excess serum left behind in the pouch, over my neck and shoulders. The next morning, I washed my face with a mild cleanser and noticed that my skin glowed slightly but did not look as radiant as it often does after using a sheet mask. My skin looked well moisturised and felt soft to touch. I often rub some serum over my chapped lips and the serum heals it making it soft and smooth. But that did not happen with this mask. I did rub some serum over my lips but it did not have any effect on it. The glow also lasted for barely a few hours. This mask did not work any wonder for me and was just an average sheet mask
What’s good about it?
Highly moisturising
Does not break out acne prone skin
Makes the skin soft and smooth
Gives a healthy glow to the skin
What’s not so good about it?
Effects last for barely a few hours
Expensive (I still feel that ₹100 for a one-time use sheet mask is unreasonable.)
I give The Face Shop Real Nature Avocado Mask 3 out of 5 rating. The mask did moisturise and hydrate my skin like a regular sheet mask but did not show any exceptional results.
