Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask Collagen Review: An Average Slimy Mask
Innisfree is a Korean skin care brand that uses organic ingredients approved by France’s ECOCERT organization. If you don’t already know then let me tell you that I am a crazy Korean Drama addict which is why I just had to buy this Korean face mask at any cost. This is a regular Korean sheet mask that comes in a cotton sheet. At first, I was sceptical about using a damp cotton sheet on my face as I was not sure how hygienic that would be. But after using the mask I am sure that it isn’t as bad as I thought I could be. The cotton sheet is damp because it is covered in the solution or serum that works on the skin. It was my first time using a sheet mask and here is my experience.
Name: Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask – Collagen
Price: Rs. 150/- for 1 Mask
Ingredients:
What does it claim?
The mask contains collagen, which is good for skin firmness. It rejuvenates the skin and leaves it feeling resilient.
How to use?
Wash your face with a mild cleanser and pat it dry. Use a toner that will help refine your skin texture. Take out the mask from its packet. It will have a plastic film over it that needs to be peeled off before you place the mask on your face. Remove the mask in the bottom to upward direction after 20 minutes and gently pat the solution left onto the skin. Do not wash off the solution. Leave it on as your skin needs to absorb it and it will eventually dry on your face. In case the serum annoys you, you can use this mask at night i.e. peel off the mask from your face before sleeping and let the serum dry on your face over night. DO NOT leave the sheet on your face over night as the cotton sheet will dry up and will absorb all the solution thereby drying out your skin. So, remember, just leave the serum on your face and not the sheet mask.
Does it fulfill its claim?
The mask is damp with the liquid formula so the sheet was very slimy. I peeled off the plastic film and placed the mask on my face.
My main struggle was placing my eyes and lips in the provided openings. I don’t have large eyes but the eye hole was still too tiny for me. I was constantly fidgeting with the mask at first to ensure that my full face is covered. But that was only because of my finicky nature. The mask is big enough to cover the entire face. The mask isn’t very slippery but I could not sit and work with the mask on my face as I could feel it shifting from its place. So, when you use it, make sure you have free time to lie down and relax.
The liquid solution or serum has a decent fragrance and my sensitive skin did not tingle under it. It felt cool like any other facemask. After I removed the mask, I squeezed out the leftover serum from the pack and applied onto my face, neck, and shoulders. I left it on till it was semi-dry and then washed my face. You are supposed to leave it to dry fully on your face, but since I was in a haste, I washed it off after a few hours. At first, I didn’t see or feel any change. After an hour or so I noticed that my skin felt tight. I could feel it slightly dry but after two more hours, my skin felt supple and soft and even a little oily.
I am young so, for now, I do not have major issues related to skin firmness. But the way the mask worked on my skin I am sure the mask is effective in making the skin firm yet supple.
What’s good about it?
Travel friendly
Contains natural ingredients
What’s not so good about it?
Slimy texture makes the mask slightly slippery
Eye hole is too small
Pricey for a one-time use mask
I give Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask – Collagen 3 out of 5 rating. I was not highly impressed by this mask. But, if your facial skin appears loose and lackluster, you can try using this mask as it does make the skin visibly tighter.
