Lotus Herbals Lip Lush Lip Balms Review: High In Tint But Rough In Texture

I stock lip balms because I am always in need of them. I usually buy non-tinted, medicated lips balms that heal chapped lips. Since I love wearing lip colour I often opt for clear lip balms that can be used under lipsticks. But this time I decided to go for a tinted lip balm. I was looking for some herbals lip balms and saw that Lotus Herbals recently launched their Lip Lush range of tinted lip balms. Just the kind of lip balm I was looking for. I purchased two variants from this range and here is my experience with it.

Lotus Herbals Lip Lush Review - Pink Guava

Lotus Herbals Lip Lush Review

The ingredients for both the balms are exactly the same and they even work the same but the prices are different. I guess it could be because of the level of pigmentation.

What does it claim?

Lip Lush lip balms moisturise the lips and protect them from darkness due to exposure to the sun. They remove roughness and make the lips smooth and soft.

How to use?

Twist-up the tube and apply over lips as and when required.

Does it fulfil its claim?

Both the lip balms come in a twist-up plastic tube packed on a colourful cardboard and sealed with a transparent plastic cover.

The texture of the balm is surprisingly rough. It does not glide smoothly over the skin. The formula is very grainy almost like a mild skin scrub. It does not spread evenly over the skin and clearly looks grainy even after application.

The balm stays on for around 2-3 hours before fading away. What I do not like about the packaging is that the bullet gets easily detached from the bottom so once I have it twisted up, it won’t retract easily, I have to push it down manually. Both the balms are highly pigmented so it looks like you are wearing a lipstick. The strawberry variant is a shade darker than pink guava and also has a stronger fragrance. The balm does moisturise the lips but does not heal chapped lips. So, do not use it on extremely dry lips as it is not a medicated formula to help with that condition. It may be preferred by those who use tinted lips balms on a regular basis.

What’s good about it?

Highly pigmented

Contains SPF 20

Moisturises the lips

What’s not so good about it?

Rough and grainy texture

Bullet breaks off easily

Not long lasting

I give Lotus Herbals Lip Lush – Strawberry and Pink Guava 2.5 out of 5 rating. Lip lush lips balms are highly tinted but have a rough grainy texture which is something I do not like. If you are looking for just a tinted lip balm then do check out the shades in the Lip Lush collection.
