SSCPL Chocolate Facial Review: Provides Long Lasting Skin Radiance
If you have been following the beauty section of my blog for a while then you must have read about my last visit to a beauty exhibition where I bought a ton of products at heavy discounts. SSCPL Herbals Chocolate Facial Kit was one of the products I bought at half its price and have tried it a couple of times before writing this review. I have reviewed SSCPL’s facial kits before and the only difference between those kits and this kit is that the latest range of facial kits contains a bottle of serum. Application of the serum is the last step in this facial which gives an added glow to the skin. This is the first kit I have used in their updated range and here is my experience with it.
Name: SSCPL Chocolate Facial Kit
Price: ₹200/- for 1 Kit containing cleanser, scrub, cream, gel, face pack and serum
What does it claim?
The chocolate facial is enriched with anti-oxidants that protects skin from free radical damage and helps to fight ageing. It prevents blemishes and makes the skin soft and supple.
How to use?
Step 1: Wash Face With Chocolate Cleanser
The milk cleanser is thick and creamy. It comes in a tiny white bottle with a flip cap. A few drops of the cleanser are enough to clean the entire face. The cleanser instantly unclogs the pores and leaves the skin totally cleansed. My skin felt instantly soft and looked clean.
Step 2: Exfoliate With Chocolate Scrub
The chocolate scrub is brown in colour and has a very strong chocolaty fragrance. The granules are smooth and rounded. Even though the scrub is mild, do not rub it hard on your face because I was stupid enough to do it once and ended up feeling that slight burning sensation all over my face. The next time I used the product I ensured that I did not rub it hard and used it like a regular cleanser and it did its job just fine. My skin looked and felt squeaky clean.
Step 3: Massage With Chocolate Cream
I usually avoid massage creams because my skin is oily and creams usually break me out. But since this kit is meant for sensitive skin (not oily or acne-prone) I decided to give it a try just to see if it is suitable for acne-prone skin. I massaged the cream for 5 minutes before washing it off with regular water. You can also wipe it off with a moist cotton. I washed it off because I was still paranoid about creams not suiting my skin. Thankfully, the cream plumped up my skin and did not break me out. I am saying this after using this kit a couple of times.
Step 4: Massage With Chocolate Gel
I personally loved using the chocolate face gel because it smells like chocolate and it gets absorbed by the skin quickly. I massaged the gel all over my face for around 5 minutes before washing it off with regular water. After washing off the gel I noticed that my skin did not feel as soft as it did after the cream massage. But it certainly looked radiant so I was wondering if I should go for the face pack or no.
Step 5: Apply Chocolate Face Pack
Of all the steps involved in this facial procedure, I dislike applying the face pack the most only because I am not a fan of clay packs. Here, I scoop out some of the clay pack onto a bowl and mix it with rosewater before applying it to my face. I left it one for around 15 minutes before washing it off with regular water. I noticed that my skin did not feel stretched the way it usually feels after using clay masks. My skin felt smooth and looked lighter and brighter.
Step 6: Dab On The Serum
The last step in this facial is the application of the serum. The serum is of a thick consistency and needs to be massaged well for the skin to absorb it completely. After I washed off the face pack, I applied the serum and left it on to dry. If you have oily skin then I have just one advice for you that is please go easy with the serum. The first time I used it I got carried away and used a lot of serum because of which my skin looked greasy after the facial. So, I would recommend you too follow the instructions on the box and use not more than three drops of serum on the entire face.
Does it fulfil its claim?
I have used this facial kit a couple of times and over different seasons. I have used it in winter to see if it moisturises the skin and in summer to see if it manages to get rid of excess oiliness. And the effects of this facial are more or less same in both the seasons i.e. it hydrates the skin and makes it soft and smooth. Since I have oily skin I was more concerned about the facial causing a break out in the summers but thankfully it didn’t. Even in the hot weather, it suited my sensitive acne-prone skin. My skin looked fresh and radiant for a couple of days and this lasting effect is why I strongly recommend SSCPL facials.
What’s good about it?
Suits acne-prone, sensitive skin
Paraben-free
Does not contain chemical bleaching or whitening agents
Makes skin radiant and soft
Long lasting effects
One kit can be used for at least 4 facial sessions
Reasonably priced
Easily available
What’s not so good about it?
My only complaint with SSCPL facial kit remains that they do not provide a spatula to remove and mix the face pack with rosewater.
I give SSCPL Chocolate Facial 4 out of 5 rating. I love the fact that the effects of this facial lasts for a few days unlike a lot of masks whose effects fade within a few hours. This facial kit is formulated for sensitive skin so you need not worry about any kind of unwanted reaction. Give it a try without a second thought.
PS: In case you are wondering why the images are watermarked ‘Alphagirl.in’ then it is because I purchased this kit last year and had clicked these images back when my web address was AlphaGirl.in.
You can buy this facial kit from SSCPL Herbals or Purplle.
